Ski in Sälen
Sälen ski resort is an established skiSweden favourite, surrounded by the rolling fells of central Sweden this beautiful resort has acres of inspiring, open slopes that are perfect for beginner skiers and those looking for a relaxing place to improve. Lindvallen one of the four main village areas in Sälen and is our favourite for families and beginners. Everything is in strolling distance of the bottom of the slopes and the main ski school meeting point, making your days super convenient and stress-free. Skiing can be demanding for new skiers regardless of age, but when your legs get tired you can retire to the fantastic Experium complex, where you’ll find bowling, swimming, cinema, and play areas. If all that sounds a bit energetic, you can always head to the spa.
Ski in Åre
Åre has been a popular mountain retreat for over 100 years and the historic lakeside town has become the main accommodation area for the renowned Åre ski resort. The resort hosts an annual FIS World Cup skiing event, meaning the slopes are well-kept and the facilities are world class.
The slopes themselves make up the largest continuous ski area in Sweden and offer something for everyone, from relaxed beginner’s areas to more challenging runs for those after a chance to push themselves.

A guided snowmobiling trip is a safe and fun activity for the whole family. If you have a UK driving license you can drive a snowmobile through the clearly marked tracks in the areas around the resorts. Snowmobiles seat 2, so non-drivers can take the rear seat, and there’s usually a space behind the guide if you’ve got uneven numbers.
Another iconic Scandinavian pastime is cross-country skiing, and it really is an enjoyable way to immerse yourself in the local nature and culture. Lessons and equipment hire are widely available in advance and in resort, so contact your skiSweden expert for more information.
