Half term ski holiday in Sälen ski resort

February 2021 ski holidays in Sweden

Join skiSweden in February 2021 for a fantastic family ski holiday in Sweden's beautiful Sälen ski resort.

A ski holiday in Sälen with skiSweden is about skiing and more, with loads to do on and off the slopes, from relaxing in a traditional sauna or spa, to exploring beyond the ski slopes on a husky sledding adventure or on a snowmobile.

The quiet ski slopes and snowy forests of the expansive Sälen ski resort will be at your fingertips and at skiSweden we can help you make the most of your holiday with personalised suggestions from our experts. There are two main accommodation areas with access to skiing across Sälen resort, and our skiSweden experts will be more than happy to help you choose the one that suites you.

Ski in Sälen Lindvallen

Sälen Lindvallen is renowned as a fun and vibrant destination for families. It is especially good for young children and beginner skiers thanks to the fantastic ski schools, wide open slopes, and well-developed resort amenities. The accommodation is spread predominantly through a choice of high quality apartments and cabins, within strolling distance of the bottom of the slopes and the fantastic Experium complex.

In Experium you’ll find bowling, swimming, cinema, and play areas, perfect for keeping little ones busy off the slopes, and if all that sounds a bit energetic, you can always head to the spa.

Ski in Sälen Tandådalen

The Tandådalen ski area is still a fantastic family ski area with peaceful slopes and great ski schools, but it also offers easy access to the more advanced slopes of Sälen ski resort. This makes it an ideal destination if you’ve got a family or group of mixed abilities.

There is a great selection of conveniently located cabins and apartments to suit a range of family and group sizes. The other village areas, including the Experium complex, are easy to reach on the free ski bus.

Optional Activities

Husky sledding

Husky sledding is an iconic part of Scandinavian culture and is a great way to experience the stunning scenery from a different perspective. Husky sledding adventures are available in most of our resorts, so speak to your skiSweden expert for more information and to book.

A guided snowmobiling trip is a safe and fun activity for the whole family. If you have a UK driving license you can drive a snowmobile through the clearly marked tracks in the areas around the resorts. Snowmobiles seat 2, so non-drivers can take the rear seat, and there’s usually a space behind the guide if you’ve got uneven numbers.

Cross-country skiing

Another iconic Scandinavian pastime is cross-country skiing, and it really is an enjoyable way to immerse yourself in the local nature and culture. Lessons and equipment hire are widely available in advance and in resort, so contact your skiSweden expert for more information.
